We’ve recently completed a triad of bespoke projects for three clients with Yorkshire roots: Solupak, Lauden Chocolate, and Yorkshire Spirits. Scroll down to learn how we’ve taken the aesthetic appeal of their packaging branding to new heights with personalised and targeted designs!
Solupak:
Recyclable Branded Tape for a Sustainability-Centric Manufacturer
Up first is Solupak, manufacturer of sustainability-centric cleaning solutions in Castleford. For many years now we’ve created a variety of branded boxes to house several of their product ranges. In November 2022, we were tasked with helping the business reduce the amount of plastic content used to seal the packages protecting their soluCLEAN range.
Switching from Plastic to Recyclable Kraft Tape
Enter kraft paper tape, one of the most popular alternatives to plastic tape! Kraft tape closes and secures the corrugated cardboard cases that protect soluCLEAN’s water soluble film sachets of cleaning concentrate. It’s one of the most popular alternatives to ‘traditional’ plastic tape, an ancillary that often hinders the recyclability of seemingly recyclable boxes.
Whilst it’s a simple change, its impact is enormous. soluCLEAN’s branded packaging is now:
- 100% recyclable
- Closer aligned to Solupak’s sustainability mission
- More secure – the adhesive on kraft paper tape is stronger than traditional plastic tape
Making the soluCLEAN Brand Stick
We also worked with Solupak to incorporate soluCLEAN’s branding onto the tape for recognisable and memorable packaging. Each product in the range has its own colour – for instance, lilac for Laundry Bio and sunshine yellow for Hard Surface Floor Cleaner.
The tape’s copy was printed in the corresponding colour of the product it was sealing so package handlers could differentiate the boxes more easily. We’ve provided 75,600m of branded soluCLEAN tape since we started the project back in November 2022, a whole lot of unrecyclable plastic tape savings!
Working with local suppliers is paramount to our Yorkshire-based client, Solupak, and we’re so proud of how our relationship has gone from strength to strength over the years.
This switch to printed kraft paper tape is just one of the ways we’re supporting them to improve their packaging and reduce their impact on the planet, all whilst enhancing awareness of their soluCLEAN product range.

Lauden Chocolate:
Minimalist Design for Maximum Luxury
Up next is our long-standing client, Lauden Chocolate who we’ve had a working relationship since 2016. Trust us when we say the grumbling tummy doesn’t lessen with time, no matter how long you’ve been manufacturing their branded boxes for!

Lauden Chocolate specialises in crafting handmade chocolate delights for a range of luxury customers worldwide.
Therefore, nothing but packaging designs with acute attention to detail and high-quality manufacturing will do to protect and transport their treats.
Lauden Chocolate is renowned for crafting some of the finest chocolate in the UK, so it’s imperative customers have that luxury experience from the get-go.
The minimalist design of the branded boxes we manufacture for them are helping to ensure that happens, and we love how the boxes continue to showcase their high-quality, professional reputation!

Less is More
In-keeping with their brand’s aesthetic, all packaging solutions we provide to Lauden Chocolate feature black designs printed onto white corrugated cardboard.
Printing elements like their logo and contact details directly onto the cardboard gives an exceptionally clean finish, reinforcing the quality and professionalism of the brand.
The clamshell nature of the box adds to the minimalist design whilst exuding even more of a sense of luxury.
Yorkshire Spirits:
That’s the Spirit!
Completing this triple whammy of our local client line-up is Yorkshire Spirits. If you’re in the area, you’ll have probably spotted (if not tasted) some of their handcrafted tipples in local shops.
As is the spirit of those of us based in the region, Yorkshire Spirits are incredibly proud of their heritage and supportive of other businesses that share it, too. Partnering with a bespoke packaging supplier that’s local was a high priority for the spirits producer, and that’s exactly where we come in.
Yorkshire Spirits was after a protective yet visually appealing packaging solution for two of their brands: Leeds Gin and Castle Hill Gin. The box was to house both bottles, so its design needed to reflect each brand without causing confusion to the end customer.
A Collaborative Approach to Branded Packaging
Our design team collaborated with members of Yorkshire Spirits to draft up various designs that combined both brands in a way that allowed them to sit side-by-side.
The brief asked for the social media handles of both Leeds Gin and Castle Hill Gin to be visible on the outside of the box to drive their followings on the platforms.
We decided that using contrast for the elements printed directly onto the box (social media handles, website address, logos) would provide the required clarity between the brands whilst enhancing that quality look and feel.
A couple of gradients were also included within the designs to further differentiate the illustrations without running the risk of losing the overall Yorkshire Spirits identity.
We’ve loved collaborating with Yorkshire Spirits to design and develop the bespoke, branded boxes for two of their spirits brands!
Our team have shown real expertise and enthusiasm to create this sturdy yet attractive box, and we’re pleased to hear how impressed Yorkshire Spirits are with the finished product.

Enhancing the Essence of the Region
We were keen to ensure that Yorkshire Spirits’ USP of being handcrafted in the heart of Yorkshire gets the recognition it deserves across the packaging, too. So we used large, bold typography to print ‘MADE IN YORKSHIRE’ on the top flaps of the box – a proud message that simply can’t be missed!
When it came to choosing which container would host all the above branded design work, we agreed upon an 0201 style. Though this is a ‘standard’ box, its EB flute double wall is thinner than the standard double wall, allowing for a cleaner finish without compromising strength – vital for housing six glass bottles!
The Yorkshire Spirits box also features:
- Bespoke dividers manufactured from corrugated cardboard to sit in-between the spirit bottles for added protection during transport and storage
- Plain, biodegradable kraft paper tape to securely seal the flaps on the box
- A stand-out ‘fragile’ icon to enforce the delicate nature of the bottles inside
